Dracula vs. Catholic Schoolgirl

Today we had a Halloween costume contest at work. It seems like this past week I have heard two common themes about Halloween costumes.

1. Girls always try to have their boyfriends/husbands dress in a “couples” costume.
2. Girls use Halloween as an excuse to dress like a slut without anyone looking at down them.

I guess I have realized these two points before, but this year I have listened to at least 3 different radio shows which discussed both topics, and I have read a couple of articles on the subject as well. I must say that I completely agree with both of these points.

Vanessa and I do have a “couples” costume. Normally I would balk at the idea, but she came up with a good idea so I’m going along with it. The Halloween costume at work today solidified the second point. The guys dressed up as Dracula, a Red Neck, a hunter, Hanibal Lecter, Mormans, etc. The girls wore sexier outfits such as a Catholic Schoolgirl (WOW!!!), two gypsies (with tight tops and flat stomachs showing), four prostitutes (not together), a cavewoman (wearing a very short leopard-skin dress), a devil with a tight bodysuit, a cat (meow), shall I go on?

I have no problem with it; actually I encourage it. I think it’s great. The girls obviously want the attention and the guys are more than happy to look. I just wish it were like this everyday.
