Lil John in da house! What? Okay!
Where do I even start? Let’s get the April Fool’s joke out of the way. Yes, it was a joke as some of you saw through it right away (and confirmed with me privately later). The idea of moving out of state has been discussed, but wouldn’t happen until the summer of 2006 at the earliest.
This weekend was James’ 30th birthday. On Thursday, after I picked Vanessa up at the airport we went to the Jagerhaus for dinner and James' Birthday. I have wanted to go there for a while and it was everything I hoped. The food is amazing and is true to its German roots. There were 9 of us and we were treated well. The owner came out and talked to us for a while. Our picture will be up on the website in a couple of weeks. I am planning on eating there at least every two weeks.
Friday, Reina and Ryan planned a surprise party for James. Reina took James out to dinner and everyone rushed over to James’, Steve’s, and Dan’s place to set-up for the party. There was a theme to the party – Midgets. In the spirit of the theme, everyone brought miniature food - mini cupcakes, mini sodas, mini bagels, mini bread, mini quiche. Anyway, you get the idea.
Several of us put our money together and Reina booked a midget to attend the party. Lil John (the midget) got stuck in traffic, so Reina has to delay James for a while, but when he came through the door blindfolded, I think he was a little shocked. When Lil John came running out and jumped on him, his jaw dropped. He didn’t know what to do.
The first half hour with Lil John was a little awkward. Everyone was timid about talking to him and taking pictures. Once the alcohol was flowing everyone loosened up and was having a great time. Lil John has a “talent” of being able to jump up and kick himself in the head with both feet at the same time. I took a lot of pictures and got some great video of Lil John attacking the piñata and finishing the piñata off with some wrestling moves.
We only paid Lil John to be there until 10:00, but just as I suspected, he was having a good time and hung around for a little bit longer (pardon the pun). We had to be back at James house the next morning for wine tasting, so V and I left around 11:00 pm to get a couple of hours of sleep before heading back.
