Fish pajamas? What fish pajamas?

Saturday was my day to get a bunch of stuff done. It didn’t quite work out that way though. I knew Sunday I would be spending the day with my mom, so all the stuff I have wanted to do had to be done Saturday. I had such big plans, but as it turned out I went grocery shopping with Vanessa, grilled up some hamburgers, got an ID tag for the new cat, then grilled-up some shrimp and asparagus for dinner. I was supposed to help my neighbor pull the engine out of his Charger, but he got home late so we’ll do it some other weekend.

This is the same guy I play poker with sometimes. He’s a great guy, but has an uncanny knack of coming to our door when the house is at its absolute worst and/or I am laying on the couch with my goldfish pajama bottoms on. I’m running out of excuses. Saturday night Vanessa and I watched I, Robot. I thought it was pretty good, but my expectations were low before watching the movie from some reviews I had heard.

Sunday I cooked-up 2 pounds of bacon, which should keep me happy for the rest of the week. I could eat it all at once, but I had a couple and put the rest in the fridge. I took my mom out for a belated Mother’s Day. She likes to do things away from the actual set days to beat the crowds. We saw Kingdom of Heaven and we both enjoyed it, and Orlando Bloom is so dreamy!!! She is a history buff, so for her to like a movie like this it has to be somewhat realistic and follow the story of what actually happened. There were a couple of differences in the story line, but she says overall it was very accurate. After getting some lunch we went back to her place so I could fix some things around her place.

It’s been a while since I’ve spent time with my mom, especially alone. It was nice to just talk about everything going on. She’s always ready to provide advice for me.

Sunday night was the Survivor Finale. I really enjoyed this season. I was very happy with the winner and I wanted that person to win since the beginning. I’m hoping this will be an eventful week for me. Vanessa’s musical is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. I know she’s looking forward to Sunday.
