I like boobies!
Last weekend was fun. After going to the Taste of Newport (apparently, Newport tastes like silicone and peroxide) we went back to Diane’s apartment. James went for a quick swim after I heard someone say, “I dare you to…”. That’s all it took. The B-52’s played at the Taste of Newport and the food was good. The next day James and I went to Montez’s place up in Van Nuys (a.k.a. Holy Crap This is Far). Mike had won a contest from 97.1 FM. Brand new 48” HDTV, Fatburger, fries, and soda for everyone. The Leykett’s showed up (2 of them). They looked good, but spent most of the time talking to the 97.1 Street Team and about negative calories (whatever). It was nice to see everyone again. I think the last time was Halloween 2004. After Montez and the crew started playing Halo, James and I decided it was time to experience Manifest Destiny and drive home. After 17 hours and a couple of narrow escapes from the various Indian tribes we made it.
This week was filled with interesting experiences at work. I’m not going to get into details, but I had to suspend someone in my department for making a threat to Barney. The one sentence was the summary of 2 weeks of drama and stress. That’s all for now.
Wednesday was the BBQ at Reina’s. James (I think it was James) set a menu and directed everyone on what to bring, so it was actually organized this time. I had a good time and just decided to spend most of the night listening instead of talking (unusual for me). It was probably a nice beak for everyone!
This will be my dad’s last week at work. He’s been bored since he has handed over all of his responsibility to the new IS Manager and myself. This will probably be a really long week for him. I took him shopping for his retirement gift the company is giving him at dinner Monday night. He wasn’t supposed to know about it, but I thought he should pick out something he likes. We spent the rest of the afternoon practicing his “look of surprise”. He almost has it down.
Last night V and I went to Dinseyland with Ed and Tiffany. After dinner, they took me on Tower of Terror. WTF?!?! I hated it! I hate the feeling of falling and that is all this ride is. The worst part is, the ride almost completely in the dark, so I couldn’t tell if I was dropping or going up really fast. Just when I thought I was at the bottom, I would be at the top where you can see out across the city, then I would go plunging back into darkness again. I just kept saying, “I’m not happy. I’m not enjoying this.” over and over again. At least everyone else had a good time laughing at me. We went on a couple of other rides, caught the new fireworks show, hit Space Mountain (love it), and said goodnight.
Today I hung out with my mom. She took me out to lunch and handed me something I am calling the “packet of death”. She already has a Trust set-up, but she handed me a document giving instructions on who to contact, what to do with her body, and so on. Great information and it will make things much simpler when she dies, but since my dad finished his Trust this week, so it seems like everything is revolving around death.
I’ll try and write again during the week. There’s a lot of stuff going on for my dad’s retirement and I have a lot to do this week before he leaves. Later!
