Catching up with the Montgomery's
I don’t even know where to start. So much has happened since the last time I wrote. I guess I’ll just write randomly as I remember stuff. Christmas was spent in Capitola with Vanessa, my mom, and my grandma. It was great. My mom gave me an iPod Video (30 GB) for Christmas, but I received it early, so Vanessa and I put it on shuffle and listened to it on the drive using an FM transmitter. Despite a little traffic, that was the most relaxing drive I have ever had driving that far. The car was great. Very comfortable and plenty of power for whatever I wanted to do. The navigation made it fun to try and beat the car’s estimate, but the car knows best. I think it was within 5 minutes of it’s original estimate which isn’t bad for a 6 hour drive.
I spent most of the time at my grandma’s catching up on sleep, playing cards, playing dominos, and eating. It was wonderful. It was also nice taking 5 days off of work. I have been working a lot of hours (70 to 80 hours a week), but since Christmas I have forced myself to slow down and work less hours. I did drag Vanessa to my work for two hours today. Huge help.
My dad is doing great… I think. I actually haven’t heard form him since a couple of days before New Years. He traveled up to some remote part of Thailand with outdoor showers and squat toilets. Oh boy! Anyway, I hope to hear from him again soon.
Barney is Barney. On a daily basis he impresses me and disappoints me.
Vanessa and I had a quiet New Years. Vanessa made a reservation at a local restaurant (Wild Artichoke). It’s a great little restaurant with 10 tables and amazing food. They had a special menu for New Years. Afterward, we went home, set-up the Aerobed in the living room, and watched movies. The plan was to eat a bunch of candy and junk food, but we were both stuffed from dinner. The whole weekend revolved around movies. We went to the theatre twice and watched 3 DVD’s. King Kong, Lion, Witch, and Wardrobe, House of Wax, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Hitch. Liked them all except House of Wax.
January is busy with Birthdays (including mine), Vegas, award banquets, dinners, wedding showers, BBQ’s, and comedy shows.
Later.
