I need your help

Vanessa and I are going on our trip to Europe in December. While we are there I will be stopping in Neuss to visit my friend Sebastian and his family. I lived with them for 6 months when I was 16. They did so much for me and I have always wanted to show them my gratitude. It is customary when you visit someone's home from another country to bring a gift. So I have been racking my brain for months to think of a present to bring Sebastian (now 31 years old) and another present to bring his parents. I would like for it to be something that is unique to California or the United States.

I am willing to spend a good amount of money for this, but I have only come-up with a couple of ideas.

For Sebastian (I would get all of these plus more, not just one)
  • License Plates - He wanted a California license plate when he was here previously, but was not able to get one. I can get him one or I can buy all 50 states for $230.00
  • In-N-Out Gear - Maybe a couple of T-Shirts and stuff like that.

For his Parents
  • Picture from Rodney Lough - These are really nice pictures taken from around California. Here's the one I would get. They are amazing and look increadible when seen in person. The picture would be 16" x 20" or 20" x 24" and it would be matted and framed.

When his parents visited my parents they brought a nice Cookoo clock from Southern Germany. It was a nice present my parents could display and remember where it came from. I would like to do something similar. Does anyone have ideas of a gift I could give to either Sebastian or his parents that would be something special from California?
