Foot update…

I know everyone is anxious to hear about my foot! Well too bad, your going to read about it anyway. I had my first cast taken off yesterday, took more x-rays, and had a new cast put on. The first cast was taken off using an electric saw. Even though I knew it wouldn’t cut through my skin I was still nervous. It did catch my ankle at one point and I jumped, but it didn’t do any damage.

My foot was no longer tender where it broke (good news), but the x-rays showed the bones are still not touching. He seemed more positive this time about not having to do surgery, but did mention I will probably need to wear another cast after this one. I have another appointment on November 23rd to have another cast put on. The insurance company approved the Bone Growth Stimulator (insert hilarious sexual comment here), so that should help. The doctor gave me a copy of my x-ray, so if I remember, I will scan it into my computer and post it here.

My new cast if black (black is very slimming you know) so hopefully it won’t stand out as much. This one is much tighter and it not nearly as comfortable or flexible as my last one. I drank a Black Russian (Kahlua and Vodka) and had a hot chocolate with Kahlua (highly recommended) last night to take my mind off of how uncomfortable it is. It worked. As long as I don’t need surgery it’s worth it.

This weekend I am going back to San Francisco to watch the “Battle for Last Place in the NFC” as the 49ers (1-7) take on the Carolina Panthers (1-7).
